Mei Nakamoto

Honolulu, Hawaii

MEI NAKAMOTO has been practicing law for over 30 years. She began her career in San Francisco and returned to Hawaii in 1989, where she continued her work in the area of business litigation. After years of solving problems for businesses, Mei Nakamoto turned to solving problems for people.

A graduate of W.R. Farrington High School (1975), the University of Hawaii at Manoa (B.Ed. with distinction and B.S. 1980 with distinction) and Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago) (J.D. 1984), since 1998 Ms. Nakamoto has focused her education, training and experience helping parents and non-parents learn how the laws about child custody, child support, alimony and property division affect their parenting rights and obligations, income, expenses, military service benefits, other government benefits, retirement and general economic future.

Mei Nakamoto's clients benefit from her decades of experience in courtrooms and mediation rooms. Her seasoned perspective and depth of strategic planning provide clients with practical and realistic advice that resolves disputes efficiently and effectively so clients can move on with their lives.

Committed to helping her community, Mei Nakamoto volunteers her time in many non-law related activities such as being a member of the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunrise, a certified USA Swimming official, a volunteer with Hawaii's Special Olympics aquatics competitions, and a member of the board of directors for Family Programs Hawaii.
